Method1

Cinnamyl alcohol is stored in the form of esters in natural turmeric oil, Peruvian gum, and cinnamon oil. It can be obtained by adding an appropriate amount of 10% caustic soda solution and heating it. There are many methods for synthesizing cinnamyl alcohol. Cinnamyl cinnamate can be saponified in alkaline medium to obtain high-quality cinnamyl alcohol; Cinnamyl alcohol can be obtained with a yield of 73% by reducing cinnamaldehyde from Chemicalbook with isopropyl aluminum; When using benzyl alcohol aluminum to reduce cinnamaldehyde, it will simultaneously evaporate to produce benzaldehyde and obtain cinnamyl alcohol. After vacuum distillation, the final product is obtained. This method of reducing cinnamaldehyde does not touch the double bonds of the side chains.


Method2

The cinnamaldehyde reduction method adds 0.01 parts of aluminum shavings to 1 part of benzyl alcohol, heats it to 60 ℃, and reacts to release hydrogen gas. The temperature is raised to 180 ℃ until the release of hydrogen gas stops. After cooling and filtering, benzyl alcohol aluminum solution is added to a mixture of benzyl alcohol and cinnamaldehyde (mass 1:1). Heat to boiling under the condition of 0.0027MPa, and steam out the benzaldehyde generated by the reaction at 80 ℃ and reflux ratio of 3-4, while adding benzyl alcohol. Stop feeding until the theoretical amount of 9Chemicalbook 5% benzaldehyde is evaporated, and steam out the remaining benzyl alcohol, then steam out the crude cinnamyl alcohol. After vacuum distillation, collect the fraction at 117 ℃ (7kPa) to obtain the product. Suhe balm saponification method: Cinnamyl alcohol naturally exists in the form of cinnamate in Peruvian balm, benzoic balm, and Suhe balm. Heat and saponify the Suhe balm in a 10% sodium hydroxide solution for 5 hours, then extract the hydrolyzed product cinnamyl alcohol with ether, and finally purify it through vacuum distillation to obtain the final product.

Method 3

Saponify the Suhe balm containing cinnamic acid ester in an equal amount of 10% caustic soda solution for 5 hours to obtain the hydrolysis products of cinnamic acid and cinnamic acid, which are then extracted with ether and purified by vacuum distillation. Chemicalbook dissolves cinnamaldehyde in isopropanol, catalyzes it with aluminum isopropanol, and fractionates it at 70-80 ℃. The reduced distillate is the crude product, which is then distilled to remove isopropanol and purified by vacuum distillation to obtain the pure product.
