Application
Diphenylguanidine is primarily used as a medium-speed accelerator for natural and synthetic rubbers. It is often used as an activator for thiazole, thiuram, and hypoiodine accelerators. When used in combination with accelerators DM and TMTD, it can be used for continuous vulcanization. When used as a secondary accelerator with a thiazole accelerator, the aging resistance of the vulcanized rubber is reduced, necessitating the addition of an appropriate antioxidant. In chloroprene rubber, it acts as a plasticizer and peptizer. It is not suitable for white or light-colored products or rubber products that come into contact with food. It is primarily used in the manufacture of tires, rubber sheets, shoe soles, industrial products, hard rubber, and thick-walled products. The dosage as a secondary accelerator is 1-2 parts, while when used as a secondary accelerator with a thiazole accelerator, the dosage is generally 0.1-0.5 parts. A derivative of diphenylguanidine, chromophenoxane diphenylguanidine, is a highly effective rust inhibitor. Diphenylguanidine is also used as a plastic crosslinker, temperature indicator, ore flotation additive, coating additive, polishing agent, metal analysis reagent, and building material additive.
