Application
At pH 2-6, it can form a purple red soluble chelate with many metal ions, making it an indicator for complexometric titration of Zr4+, Bi3+, Th4+, Pb4+, Zn2+, CChemicalbookd2+, Hg2+, La3+, and Y3+. It is also a chromogenic agent for the photometric determination of metal ions such as Al3+, Zr4+, Y3+, etc. It can also be used as an acid-base indicator.
