Application

Potassium formate is used to prepare water-based oil well injection fluids. Since the late 1990s, foreign countries have begun applying potassium formate in drilling and completion fluids, particularly in high-density drilling and completion fluid systems, achieving excellent results. Drilling fluid systems formulated with potassium formate offer prominent advantages such as strong inhibition, good compatibility, environmental protection, and reservoir protection. Field application results demonstrate that potassium formate effectively inhibits clay hydration. Potassium formate is widely used in the textile printing and dyeing industry. It can react with various types of dyes, including reactive dyes, direct dyes, acid dyes, and cationic dyes.
