Application
Methyl decanoate is a large methyl ester that is considered as a substitute for unsaturated biodiesel fuel. It can also be used as a seasoning and fragrance ingredient. Methyl decanoate is used as an intermediate for caproic acid, detergents, emulsifiers, wetting agents, stabilizers, resins, lubricants, plasticizers and fragrances. It is used as a chemical intermediate for alkanolamides, fatty alcohols and fatty acids.
