Application
Ethyl formate is used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, etc., as well as a fungicide, larvicide, and fumigant for food, cigarettes, grains, dried fruits, etc. As a essence, ethyl formate can be used to blend the aroma of peach, banana, apple, apricot, pineapple, berry, etc. It can also be used as a spice of butter, brandy, liqueur, whisky, etc. Ethyl formate is also an intermediate in organic synthesis.
