Application
Cuprous oxide may be employed as a colouring agent (red) in the manufacture of red glass, red porcelain glazes, and ceramics; as a fungicide for agricultural crops; as a rectifier material; and in ship bottom paints. It is also utilised in the electroplating industry and as an organic synthesis catalyst. Cuprous oxide may serve as a reducing agent in the determination of nitrogen in azo compounds.
